COMPETITION RULES 2025
If you are unable to play, for whatever reason, please inform
your opponent/s asap. Thank you.
These are local Rules with regard to most, but 2 and 6 will be governed by the
Competition Rules of Bowls England.
These Competitions are open to all bowlers in the Tendring area, provided they are
members of a club affiliated to the EWBA.
1. All Rounds must be played within the period designated as shown. This means
that Singles and Pairs competitions will have completed Semi finals by the
13th July, and Triples and Fours will complete their competitions by 24th
August, ready for the Finals on 4th and 5th September. There will be no
extensions.
2. Any member who had entered any competition at one club and has since
changed clubs can still play in the singles at her new club. Existing members
of a club who have not previously entered OR played in the pairs, triples or
fours can also play as a substitute.
Please NOTIFY the Competition Secretary of any changes before playing your
first game. Subs will not be allowed for Singles or 2 Woods (when that is
advertised later). These games will have to be conceded.
3. NEW. Dress code will now be Club shirts and WHITE skirts/trousers/
cropped trousers/regulation shorts for all rounds, and regulation bowling shoes.
4. At least one scorecard must be kept, agreed at the end, signed by both skips,
and delivered to the Competition Secretary by the winner. Sending by email is
the preferred method. (Details shown on the front cover of this booklet). You
will then be notified about your next opponent, as soon as it is known.
5. The challenger(s) should offer the opponent(s) at least 2 dates. THESE
SHOULD NOT BE CONSECUTIVE DAYS. AND DON’T LEAVE IT TO
THE LAST MINUTE. (the earlier you offer a date, the more time there is for
change, should it become necessary). There is plenty of time for these games
to be completed, so don’t give them away.
6. Semi final winners will be expected to compete in the final on Finals Day.
Any competitor who is not going to be available for Finals Day should put
in a substitute before the semi finals at the latest.
